Formula 1

History

The roots of Formula 1 lie in the European Grand Prix championships of the 1920s and 1930s. Modern Formula 1 was founded in 1946 with the standardization of the rules by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The first World Championship took place in 1950. It all began with a race. Formula 1 is one of the most popular motorsports in the world, and its origins have a long and eventful history. It began on May 13, 1950, with the Siverstone Grand Prix, the first Formula 1 Championship race ever held.

The frist F1 car and his driver

The first Formula 1 car was built in 1938 by Alfa Romeo. The Alfa Romeo 158 Alfetta was the first F1 car wich has won 47/54 GP's. The Alfa Romeo 158 Alfetta had a supercharged 1.5-liter straight-eight engine with 350Hp, which is pretty strong for those old years. The Alfa Romeo's driver was Guiseppe "Nino" Farina

The First F1 season

The first F1 season was contested over 7 races between May 13th and September 3rd 1950, in Europe. The only race outside of Europe was the Indianapolis 500, wich was run to AAA National Championchip. The winner of this season was Guiseppe Farina.

Costs of an F1 car (old vs new)

A modern Formula 1 car can cost between $12 million and $20 million. Older F1 cars, particularly those with significant historycal or driver association, can range from $150,000 to over $1 million, with some fetiching millions.

The first World Championchip Grand Prix was held at Silverstone, since then 77 circuits in total have hosted a Grand Prix. A lots of classic (older) circuits have hosted a Grand Prix using dirfferent configurations throughout their history: Nürnburgring, Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, etc.

F1 drivers/teams

There were 787 drivers over the years. In the RED BULL RACING Team there were 19 drivers, 115 in FERRARI, 11 in MERCEDES, 10 in MCLAREN, 10 in ALPINE; etc. Although, there were over 100 teams who have competed in F1 since the Begin. In recent years only 10 teams have participated in each season.
